File 0001— Division ID: FAMILY OFFICE COORDINATION

PO-07Clearance: LEVEL 5

Private Office

“One desk and one calendar across everything a family owns. The point is the family's control and continuity, not higher returns.”

ARKA's family office coordination desk, for families who want one calm team across their businesses, property, investments, succession and giving. It coordinates. It does not manage money or give tax, legal or investment advice.

Protocol Briefing

The family decides. The professionals advise. The Private Office holds the thread.

A family's affairs are usually run by people who have never sat in the same room: the accountant, the lawyer, the banker, the manager of each business. The Private Office is ARKA's family office desk: one team across all of it.

We map what exists. We frame the decisions. We bring the chartered accountant and the lawyer to the same table. Then we run the calendar, so nothing lapses and nothing is decided by default.

“Control and continuity. Not higher returns.”

The Family Map

Every entity, every owner, every decision-maker, on one page. The whole picture in one place, before any decision is taken.

Decision Framing

Each open decision is written as a short paper: the question, the options, what each adviser must answer, and the date by which the family needs to choose. We frame. We do not recommend a structure.

The Adviser Table

The chartered accountant, the lawyer and, where the family uses them, the banker and the SEBI-registered adviser: one agenda, one set of minutes, actions with names and dates.

The Calendar

Filings, renewals, reviews, board and family meetings, documents that expire. One calendar, kept by one desk.

The Document Register

An index of what exists and where each document is kept. A register, not a vault.

The Next Generation

Who comes in, when, and on what terms. We help the family write its own rules. A family constitution is not binding by itself; the family's lawyer ties it to agreements that are.

Reputation and Protection

A family's name and safety are assets too. Digital privacy runs through Overwatch. Protection is arranged through Close Protection and delivered only by PSARA-licensed agencies, engaged for each mandate. Property runs through ARKA Realty, with transactions only through MahaRERA-registered agents.

Before the First Word

A family's affairs are not a subject for a contact form. This is the order in which we learn anything about yours.

  1. First Message

A name or an alias, an email address and one line saying you want the Private Office. Nothing about the family, what it owns or the question in front of it.

  2. Conflict Check

Before any briefing we check for conflicts. If we act for a party opposed to the family, we decline.

  3. The NDA

A non-disclosure agreement is signed before any detail changes hands. Ours, or yours once we have reviewed it.

  4. Private Channel

Only then does the conversation open, on an end-to-end encrypted channel. Not through this website, and not on WhatsApp.

  5. Need to Know

We ask only for what the map needs. Inside ARKA, access to your file is need-to-know, and every permission is revoked when the mandate closes.

The First Seven Questions

We begin with seven questions. Most can be answered in an afternoon. Some have not been asked in years.

  1. What is owned, and in whose name?

Every business, property, investment and loan, with its legal owner: an individual, an HUF, a company, an LLP, a trust.

  2. Who decides today, and who decides if that person cannot?

For each business and each major asset: who signs, who is consulted, and who steps in.

  3. Who is the next generation, where do they live, and what do they want?

Residence outside India changes the tax and foreign-exchange position; that question goes to the chartered accountant.

  4. What must never be sold?

The family home, the founding business, land.

  5. Where is the risk sitting?

Personal guarantees, liabilities held in the same entity as family assets, loans between relatives that were never written down.

  6. Is there a will, and is it current?

Nominations on bank accounts, demat accounts and insurance are listed separately, for the family's lawyer.

  7. How are family members paid, and how are disagreements settled?

Salaries, dividends, and whether any rule for a dispute exists on paper.

These are asked on the private channel, after the non-disclosure agreement is signed. Please do not answer them through the website form.

Where the Line Sits

Standing noticeWhat this desk is notRead first

ARKA coordinates. It does not give tax opinions, legal advice or investment advice. It does not manage or invest money, take custody of family assets or sell financial or insurance products.

Every structure needs a chartered accountant and a lawyer before anything is set up. That work is done only by registered professionals, engaged for each mandate. The family chooses them. They are engaged by the family directly or through ARKA, as the mandate sets out, and ARKA brings them to the table.

ARKA is paid by the family, under the mandate, and by no one else.

Investments
Investment decisions sit with the family and its SEBI-registered adviser or portfolio manager. We keep the date of the review in the calendar. We do not have a view on the portfolio.
Insurance
ARKA does not sell or recommend insurance. Cover is reviewed by the family's IRDAI-licensed broker or insurer.
Roles we do not take
ARKA does not act as trustee, executor, nominee or signatory.

File 0009Asked and Answered

Common Questions

Is ARKA a wealth manager?

No. ARKA's Private Office does not manage or invest money, sell financial products or take custody of family assets. It coordinates a family's affairs: what is owned, who decides, which adviser answers which question, and the calendar. Investment decisions stay with the family and its SEBI-registered adviser.

We already have a chartered accountant and a lawyer. Why add an office?

ARKA's Private Office does not replace a family's advisers; it works with them. Each adviser sees one part. The office keeps the whole map and the calendar, frames each decision, and makes sure the answers arrive in the right order.

Does ARKA set up trusts, draft wills or give tax opinions?

No. ARKA does not set up trusts, draft wills or give tax opinions. Lawyers draft trusts, wills and agreements, and chartered accountants give tax opinions. ARKA prepares the brief, convenes the advisers, records what was decided and tracks what follows.

How large does a family need to be?

ARKA's Private Office publishes no asset threshold. The test is complexity: more than one entity, more than one decision-maker, or a next generation with different plans.

What does ARKA see, and who else sees it?

ARKA sees only what the mapping needs, and only after a non-disclosure agreement is signed. Access inside ARKA is need-to-know. Sensitive detail is never sent through the website form; it moves to an encrypted channel set up after first contact.

Privacy notice

What should a first message to ARKA's Private Office contain?

Very little. A first message to ARKA's Private Office needs only a name or an alias, an email address and one line. Send no family or financial detail through the website. A non-disclosure agreement is signed before any detail is shared.

What if family members or assets are outside India?

ARKA's Private Office sends cross-border questions on tax and foreign exchange to advisers qualified in each country, and keeps one map and one calendar across them.

Begin Quietly

Send no family or financial detail in a first message.

A name or an alias, an email address and one line are enough. An enquiry binds you to nothing, and the non-disclosure agreement comes before anything else.
