The First 48 Hours: the statutory clocks behind a corporate crisis in India
An Indian company that discovers a serious cyber incident may have six hours before its first legal deadline, and every public statement it makes has to fit the reports it files in the same hours.
Synthetic Media and the Indian Principal: what the law now requires of platforms, and what it leaves to you
Since February 2026 Indian rules require platforms to label synthetic audio and video and to act on impersonation complaints within hours, but the clocks start late and reach foreign hosts and private messaging poorly, so the first defence is a verification habit agreed in advance.
The Family Office Question: what Indian business families are building, and where it breaks
An Indian family office puts one team and one long-term plan over a business family's companies, investments, property, tax, succession and giving. Its purpose is control and continuity, and investment decisions belong with the family and its SEBI-registered adviser. Where it breaks is coordination: each adviser sees one part, so one named person should hold a map of what is owned and a calendar of what falls due.
The List Is a Liability: what the DPDP Rules change for a marketing and communications team
India's data protection law is coming into force in stages, its main duties apply from May 2027, and they reach the contact list a marketing team already holds.
The Rules of the Last Mile: campaign communication law for the 2027 election cycle
In the 48 hours before polling closes, section 126 of the Representation of the People Act bars public meetings and the display of election matter by television or similar apparatus in the polling area, and the Election Commission applies the silence period to all media, social media included. Political advertisements on electronic or social media need a certificate from a Media Certification and Monitoring Committee before release, digital spend counts towards the candidate's ceiling, and synthetic content must be labelled. Checked against the sources as they stood in October 2026.
Before the Raise: what an Indian founder should put in order before the first investor meeting
Before the first investor meeting, an Indian founder should fix the four findings that can stall a round: intellectual property the company does not own, founder money with no paper, filings that were never made and equity promised in conversation. The round itself is a private placement under the Companies Act, with named offerees, a special resolution, a registered valuer's report and fixed time limits. Money raised cannot be used until the shares are allotted and the return of allotment is filed.
Protection Is a Licensed Trade: what Indian law asks of a security agency, and of the client who hires one
In India, anyone outside government in the business of supplying guards or protection officers needs a state licence under the Private Security Agencies (Regulation) Act, 2005, so a client should ask for the agency's licence for that state before signing. A private guard has no police powers, and a PSARA licence is not an arms licence. The client can carry labour duties of its own, which this guide sets out as the law stood in October 2026.
What a Developer May Say, and When: advertising real estate under RERA
A real estate project, and each phase of it, may be advertised only after it is registered under RERA, and nothing in the text of the Act exempts private or invitation-only circulation. In Maharashtra every advertisement must show the MahaRERA registration number, website address and project QR code. A buyer who paid on the strength of a false statement can claim compensation, or withdraw and recover the full amount with interest.
Silence Is a Position
Declining to respond is a decision with its own costs and its own discipline, and it deserves the same care as a decision to answer.
The Founder Belongs on the Risk Register
In a founder-led or family-led company the principal's reputation is an operating risk, and it should be managed like the others, with an owner, a file and a rehearsal.

Short briefings: one-minute notes on method. The papers above are the sourced work.
Notes dated before 27 January 2026 are the Principal’s own notes on method, drawn from his work in those years: strategy for a state election campaign, reputation and crisis management for a creative network, and marketing communications for a real-estate developer. ARKA Worldwide Media LLP was formed on 27 January 2026.
